The origins of these bejeweled, framed trees exceed a century ago when heirlooms were assembled on velvet and preserved for posterity as art. 
A very dear local artist and friend has been preserving the ancient art in her studio, providing her procured jewelry a renaissance. This vintage frame offers a black velvet easel back (for display on occasional tables) as well as a hanging loop that yearns for a small nail in your holiday home. All jewelry findings are assuredly vintage including intaglio glass and mourning jewelry. 8 cameos, Victorian and Edwardian relics marry upon black vintage velvet in a gold frame. 8 1/2” high.
