A Welsh Woman and her sheep are rendered in porcelain and hand-painted using the same ages-old hot kiln firing method. Staffordshire has been a coveted collectible made popular in England’s Stoke-on-Trent region (where the clay was very sculpt-friendly) during the Victorian era. Whimsical figurals of  humorous scenes were created with lovely glazes of jeweled hues. This one stole our hearts and is indiscernible from the c1860 antique original.
